- The IBM 60/120GB 8-mm M2 SCSI tape drive is the second generation high performance 8-mm tape drive from IBM. This tape drive provides a cost-effective, high-reliability tape backup solution for mid-range to high-end server computer systems. The IBM 60/120GB 8-mm M2 SCSI tape drive features 60GB native capacity and a backup rate of up to 12MB/sec. With the use of hardware-controlled data compression, the drive capacity can be increased up to 120GB and the backup rate can be raised up to 24MB/sec (assuming 2:1 compression).
